Heath Swanson, an 18-year-old high school dropout, runs away from his home in San Diego, California, to make a fresh start in New York City. Along his travels he meets Eve, another troubled teen who latches onto him. Although annoyed by his presence and idealistic dreams of life in California at first, the two form an inseparable bond.
